Airtel faces fresh outage in major Indian cities
Just days after suffering a major network failure, Airtel users are once again facing connectivity issues. This time, the outage has disrupted services in Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and other major cities, leaving thousands of subscribers frustrated.
According to DownDetector, which tracks real-time service disruptions, complaints about the Airtel outage spiked sharply around 12:11 PM, with over 6,815 reports registered about the crash.
Temporary disruption, says Airtel
Responding to the widespread outage, Airtel Cares clarified that the issue was due to a temporary connectivity disruption. The telecom operator assured users that services would be restored soon.
“We apologize for the inconvenience. The issue you’re facing appears to be due to a temporary connectivity disruption and is expected to be resolved within 1 hour. Once that time has passed, please restart your mobile phone to restore services. Thank you,” Airtel Cares said in a statement.
Users vent frustration on social media
As connectivity dropped, many users took to social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) to express their frustration. Several complained that Airtel should notify customers about outages instead of leaving them in the dark.
One user posted:
“Airtel internet down in Bangalore today? Anyone else facing this? @airtelindia at least notify users about outages instead of leaving us clueless!”
With Airtel being one of India’s largest telecom providers, back-to-back network disruptions have sparked concern among customers who rely heavily on mobile data and calls for both work and personal use.
