In this blog, I’m going to talk about the best places to visit in Bangalore.

Bengaluru is the capital and the largest city of India’s southern Karnataka state. The centre of India’s high-tech industry, the city is also known for its parks, climate and nightlife. By Vidhana Soudha, Cubbon Park. 

Bangalore is widely regarded as the Silicon Valley of India or IT capital of India because of its role as the nation’s leading information technology(IT) export. Indian technological organisations are headquartered in the city. Bangalore is the second fastest growing major metropolis in India.

Bangalore has a tropical savanna climate with distinct wet and dry seasons. Due to its high elevation, Bangalore usually enjoys a more moderate climate throughout the year, although occasional heat waves can make summer somewhat uncomfortable.

The lowest temperature of 15.1℃ in the month of January and the average high temperature of 35℃  ib the month of April.

Bangalore can be divided into 7different zones based on linguistic acclimatization of the people and business transactions involved. 

 Kannada may be the official language of Bangalore but people from the various states come & work here, so many languages have been spoken here & the people from the other state love to work here & “LEARN KANNADA”.

Lalbagh Botanical Garden

Lalbagh Botanical Garden is an old botanical garden in Bengaluru. First planned and laid out during the dalavaship of Hyder Ali and later adomed with unique plant species by his son Tippu. Before India Independence it was under the British Superintendents.

Lalbagh is a 240acres garden and is located in south Bengaluru. It holds two flower shows and has over 1000 species of plants with many trees that are more than a hundred years old.

The garden adjoins one of the towers erected by the founder of Bengaluru, Kempe Gowda. The park has some rare species of plants brought from Persia, Afghanistan and France. This garden is designed with lawns, flowerbed, lotus pools and fountains.

 The Lalbagh Rock one of the most ancient rock formations on earth. The Rock is 3000 million years old, which attracts the crowds.

Bangalore Palace

Bangalore Palace is a royal palace located in Bangalore, Karnataka, in an area that was owned by Rev.J.Garrett, the first principal of the central high school in Bangalore, now famous as central college. 

The property was purchased from Rev. Garrett in 1873 at a cost of 40000 by the British Guardians of the minor Maharaja Chamarajendra Wadiyar 10 using his personal funds. 

Construction of a palace building was started in April 1874 and completed by 1878. The palace has a floor area of 45000sft, and ground of 454acres.

ISKCON Temple

Sri Radha Krishna-Chandra Temple is one of the largest Krishna Hindu Temples in the world, affiliated with ISKCON Revival Movement. 

In may 1997, Bangalore ISKCON Temple was inaugurated by the ninth president of India Shankar Dayal Sharma. Since 1999 it has been under control of ISKCON Revival Movement.

There is a gold plated dhwaja stambha (flag post) 56ft high and a gold plated kalash shikhara 28ft high.

ISKCON Temple celebrates festivals that are either related to avatars of lord Vishnu or with Vedic culture. The main festivals that are celebrated within the temple are Rama Navami, Brahmostsava, Ratha Yatra, Balaram Jayanti, Sri Krishna Janmashtmi etc.

ISKCON Temple provides free food to those in need. This is one of the holy places to visit in Bangalore with family.

Government Museum

Government Museum established in 1865 by the Mysore State with the guidance of Surgeon Edward Balffour who founded the museum in Madras and supported by the Chief Commissioner of Mysore, L.B. Bowring is one of the oldest museums in India.

Now the Government Museum has become an archaeological museum and has a rare collection of archaeological and geological artifacts.

The museum has two exhibition floors which are divided into 18 galleries. The galleries cover sections like natural history, geology, art, music and numismatics.

The museum has a rare collection of old jewellery, sculpture, coins and inscriptions. One of the great places to visit in Bangalore.

  • Duration timings : 2 to 3 hrs

Snow City

Bangalore is known as an IT hub with lots of gardens and parks. Some of the cool attractions like the snow city where you can experience -5℃ temperature even during scorching summer. 

This snow park spread across 12,500 square feet is made of edible and eco-friendly snow. An epicenter of snow based activities and games, it counts among the largest indoor snow parks in South India and this place is an attraction for children and adult also.

Snow City is open throughout the year. But the best time to visit this indoor amusement park will be in summer as it is designed in a way to offer a complete chill-out moment. By playing in this snow world you get a chance to totally relax from the scorching season of the city. One of the coolest places to visit in Bangalore with kids.

If you think IFC is just for kids and young adults, you would want to check out the Tribal Museum, the Big Boss tour, the sand beach and the Aqua Kingdom of IFC that will give you a spine-tingling experience.

The best time to visit the place during the day. It is advisable to reach early morning because it takes 4-5 hours to fully enjoy all the rides and fun games at the park.

Cubbon Park

Cubbon Park officially called Sri Chamarajendra Park  is a landmark lung area of Bengaluru city. The heart of the city in the central Administrate area.

The landscaping in the park creatively integrates natural rock outcrops with thickets of trees, massive bamboos, with grassy expanse and flowerbeds and the monuments.

The city also hosts a library, museums, a tennis academy, an aquarium, a toy train and many statues and pavilions. It’s probably one of the only parks to have a busy road cutting through it. One of the top places to visit in bangalore.

  • Timings : 06:00am to 06:00pm, closed on monday and second tuesday of every month.

V V Puram Food Street

If you are very fond of food and want to try different types of food dishes, then you must visit VV Puram Food Street.

The street starts bustling with restaurants, kiosks, carts, and small hole-in-the-wall shops around 5 pm and 8 pm (especially on weekends), you will find large crowds eating their way through everything imaginable. We did it ourselves, and here’s what we recommend that you eat at VV Puram. Best places to visit in Bangalore to taste great food.

You can try many delicious dishes like dabeli roll, bath bath masala dosa, american corn, lassi, bhajji & bondas, jalebi, Fire paan and many more food you can try there.

I had been to Lalbagh Botanical Garden and snow city with friends, I would love to visit all these places after this pandemic.       Aero India is a biennial air show and aviation exhibition held in Bengaluru, India at the Yelahanka Air Force Station. in every two years Air Show will be held in the month of February.

  7. Great share. I personally loved reading this blog. I’m staying in Bangalore for 4 years but still I had no idea there were so many places to visit in Bangalore. But I have been to ISKCON temple and it was a peaceful place to visit. The place is very calm when you visit in the morning and I loved the Prasadam. It is one of my favourite place.

I am big time foodie and V V Puram food street is one of my Favourite place. The place all kinds of north and South Indian street food.
